Where can I get free credit report without acredit card "deposit"?

I don%26#039;t have an active credit card since my divorce

www.annualcreditreport.com allows you to get a free credit report from each of the three major credit reporting agencies each year. If you stagger these three agencies four months apart, you can keep an eye on your credit history as reported for free.

Keep in mind, though, that many places use a credit %26quot;score%26quot; (usually FICO) and this score%26#039;s value isn%26#039;t shown with the free credit report. However, if you are denied credit, looking at the credit report, with its explanation, should give you a pretty good idea of what might have caused the denial.

If you are turned down for credit, you can request a copy of the credit report used to make the decision to deny you credit, and the company which turned you down is required to give you a copy.

Good luck.

Apply for credit at some little cheesy local merchant, then talk him into getting a peek at your credit report. They are not supposed to, but I always see things I shouldn%26#039;t when I take advantage of the unwary. I have seen my college recommendations that I wasn%26#039;t supposed to see because I needed info from my personnel file, and they let me get it myself. I saw my credit report once at a small business because they put it right out in front of me to look at it.

Any time you apply for credit you are permitted to view the credit report they used for making their decision. This is usually done after they have made their decision.

You are given a free report, you only have to ask. The company has no choice but to offer this to regardless if you were approved or not.

Apply for credit card online, then look at the fine print and find the free report. they will mail you a copy. Usually it is a 1 800 number.
